Oh man... If anyone knows me they know disciplining is the hardest thing for me. Tonight right before bedtime, Ruby became a monster. She's been screaming "no ma!" at me. I was putting her toys away and she was getting them right back out. Crying and throwing little tantrums. Was not happy the whole time Jared was bathing her then screamed at me again "no ma!" as I was laying her down to lotion up. Finally Jared stepped in and what happens?! She lays right down, yes she's screaming the whole time because he hurt her feelings so bad but she listened.
I know this is all normal but I don't think how hard it is for me to tell her how it's going to be is normal. But I have to get a handle on it now, I know.
There were some fun times tonight though....
About Me
- SarahInman
- Jared and I have been married two years now. In November we will have been together 9 years. Crazy to think. We definitely grew up together and I think that's what makes us work so well. We had a daughter in June and we're not sure why we didn't do so sooner. We love her with our life. She is the best thing that's ever happened to us. I love having my own family. We live in Fayetteville and LOVE IT. We are always back and forth on whether or not we'll move back to Alma. I see us back down there one day but I see our life always being in NWA. If only we could pack our families up and move them up here!

16 Months!!
Well your dad thinks its the best night in TV which includes the presidential debate between O'Bama and Romney, Cardinals game, and football. So I'm blogging about you little girl.
16 months in the blink of an eye. Time has to slow down!
You are a busy little bee. Right when your feet hit the floor, off you go. And so happy doing it!
Things you love----riding in your car, riding in Tucker's F-150, going to Grammy's and Nana and Poppy's, mommy, daddy, koolaid jammers, peaches, well any fruit, spaghetti, climbing on things, books, bath time, playing "where's Ruby, possum, or daddy" under the covers, Miss Kathy, all of your cousins, your possum-we've had to leave him at home and tell you "he'll be watching over the house", and so much more. You are so happy. I rarely see or hear you cry unless something is really wrong.
Things you don't like---apparently dirty/wet diapers these days, I guess it's time to start some potty training. Getting cleaned off after meal time. Getting your nails clipped. There is not a lot.
You have said four new words just this week; light, pretty, bread and juice. I can't even tell you how much I was squealing today after you said "bread". I'm sure any regular Jo in public wouldn't understand your words because they aren't totally clear yet but they are to me and daddy. It amazes me. I'm so thankful.
You are still about 22 lbs, size 18 month clothes and 4 shoe.
We had to go to the doctor this month due to a nasty ingrown toenail. I honestly don't clip your nails that often so that could have been the problem or certain shoes. It kept you up for about 5 nights. Poor baby. It's all cleared up now though.
You stayed the weekend with Lindsey, Josh and Jake this month too. Your dad and I got to spend some much needed time away. We missed you more than you'll ever know but knew you were in great hands and I know you had a blast!! We can't thank Lindsey enough.
I love you Pookie Bears. You are the best thing in this whole wide world and my best little buddy. Happy 16 Months!!!!!

Grandpa Rick
I just wanted to post a quick update, easier here than on Facebook.
As everyone knows my Grandpa Rick had his heart surgery this morning. We've been waiting for about two months now for him to be healthy enough for this procedure.
So I got here (Sparks) at about 9 this morning. His surgery started at 7:50 a.m.. Mom, Wayne, sisters and I just hung out while we waited. I think all 5 of us were on our phones/hand held technology most of the time. Liz had to leave at around 10:30 to take a test. So anyway, at around 11ish they called us to the counseling room for Dr. Miller to talk to us. He basically told us it went as good as possible considering his heart was as bad as it gets without being dead. Scary!
He said they replaced the aortic valve and repaired 3 arteries (triple bypass) and what they call a "maze procedure". He said it would basically be a waiting game to see if it works. We will know in 3-6 months. He said it'd be an hour or so before we could see him and he was settled. Thanks doc..
So we walked across the street to Wendy's. I mean we were over there for 30 minutes.
We come back and settle in the waiting room. The Chaplain comes to mom and asks if she's ok and tells her she will be with us for the rest of the day and will be periodically going back to get updates from the doctor. When she walked away we all looked at each other confused. Then Wayne's cousin Sherri who has worked at the hospital forEVER comes in. She's just having small talk with us and mom asks her about why the chaplain did that. She says "well probably because he coded, that's normal". WHAT?!?!!!!! She quickly realizes this was news to us! She tells us not to quote her and quickly goes back to figure out what on earth is happening.
She comes back out and says the doctor wants to meet with you all again. My theory--she went back and told them we hadn't heard yet so they knew we needed to be filled in. He comes in and tells us has coded and had to be shocked. He told us this is completely normal and was still very positive. About 5-10 minutes later the "house manager" of ICU (I think he was a nurse) comes and gets us and tells us we can all 4 come back. Liz hadn't made it back yet.
When we get back the RN who stayed with him all day told us he had coded 3 times. They said his potassium was very low. They were trying to get that up. We were told two of us at a time could come back to visit from now on every hour. His RN would be staying in the room non-stop the rest of the day so it was up to us to come in every hour, she wouldn't have time to come get us or update us, she would be doing that as we came in.
So the first time I went back his eyes were open and he was answering my questions by nodding. He is intubated which they are working tonight on pulling him off of that. Then he mouthed "I love you" to me when I was telling him bye.
Then we find out he had to be shocked again. So 5 times all together. It's so confusing to me on how he can be awake and know who we are and answering our questions but having to be shocked back to life. They are telling us this is all normal his heart is just having to work very hard to work.
In a nut shell, he is stable. He hasn't had an episode since 3:40 this afternoon. Please keep him in your prayers. He has a long road of recovery ahead of him. Grandpa Rick, I will be thinking so much about you the next couple of days. I love you so much and I hope you get a lot of rest.
Please keep my mom and Wayne in your thoughts too. They are caring so well for him.
Love,
Sarah

First Time at The Park!
So today was Ruby's first time at the park. She LOVED it! I see many visits in our future.
We pulled in and I was sending a quick email, my car was facing it and she just kept yelling "what's that?!?!!!". So we got out and off she went.
She found a little one year old girl she immediately wanted to love on and give kisses to. She's so sweet and lovey but I know how I'd feel if some random child came up to her and started kissing her.
Anyway, it was a blast. The car said it was 80 degrees but it felt like 90. It's so humid.
We have a full weekend planned so I'm trying to take it super easy tonight. I have been picking up the house getting ready for cleaning day. We plan on scrubbing this house tomorrow top to bottom, putting out my fall/Halloween decor and then we have dinner plans with our friends Laina and Travis. We are going to Rogers for my favorite, Bonefish. Laina and Trav have never had it.
Then Sunday we have my Dad's birthday breakfast planned. We're going to the Inman's after that to see them for a bit then dinner with Mom, Wayne and my grandpa. Please pray for Grandpa Rick. His surgery is Tuesday.
Have a good weekend!

Sarah

Thoughts...
Because I'm blogging now, not facebooking. I know I said I was deleting my fb but I can't right now. We have a competition at work starting soon for the most likes on our pumpkin, our whole office wins a spa day! So I have to keep it for a bit longer. And all you people who I've helped out have to help me now. :)
My thoughts, being a lady. I sometimes hate it. I know I'd never have had the pleasure of being pregnant and having that sweet girl but I hate what comes along with it. Sadness, anxiety, stress, UN-natural thoughts.
More thoughts, I have the worst headache known to man kind. I can hardly see straight.
I had a patient call today to tell us she had to move and to transfer her records. We started chatting about a mutual person we both know. She said "yeah she seems happy if you believe everything you see on Facebook". Ha! So I'm not the ONLY ONE who sees all these people pretending to be happy?!? Am I the only person on earth who has the thoughts "I can't keep up, I can't get caught up, I'm tired, I'm grouchy!!!!! Why is my child non stop whining!"?!?!???
While I'm being super random, do you ever feel like you can't keep up with society? Why can't I be the girl who DOESN'T CARE?!? I mean I want to take care of myself and look and feel good but I'm sick of women making me feel like a sloppy lard butt.
Oh well. Thank goodness for this blog and thank you all for listening.
Have a good day.

15 Months!
After this post I plan on creating a template to fill out for all her birthdays. It seems like it'd be easier than just randomly typing it.
So 15 MONTH! Holy cow! Why does that seem so much older than 14??? I told Jared last night if we got pregnant now ruby would be 2 when we had baby. Not gonna happen though. One mama can wish. Yes, I'm ready.
So gosh where to start. Such a big girl!
Things you love---jewelry is the first thing that comes to mind. Every time we are getting ready to go somewhere you go to my closet and stand where my necklaces are. You have to have your beads. And if I have a bracelet on it doesn't last long, you get it. Already you are starting it. Mama won't have anything of her own from here on out. Makeup. Not actual colors but the brushes. I always have to give you one or two of mine to "put ya make up on". I absolutely love it. This is why every girly girl mama needs a daughter. Books. You find one at least 3 times a day and come sit in my lap to read it to you. Right now your favorite is "brown bear brown bear". It has windows for you to open and you love it. I have to read it to you about 3 times in one sitting every time. The garage. You absolutely love playing in there. I know it's because there is so much for you to get in to. The big stereo is in there which you love turning on and up and down and dancing to the music. You love to dance. Bath time--Daddy turns on his Pandora radio on the dock and y'all just bathe away. He says the music calms you. It is a lot of George Strait and you do love it so much. Puffs--I don't give them to you but at Miss Kathy's you steal the other kids. It's pretty funny. One of your friends there mom only allows him to eat organic. Apparently you love his organic puffs which Kathy says taste like cardboard. They laugh at you stealing his puffs but I do not. I'd rather you just eat your graham crackers at snack time, or whatever she's feeding you. Shoes---you always have to have your shoes on. Then you love to take them off and on and act surprised when you do it. You have the funniest surprised face. Mowing---I'm pretty sure if you're home Daddy will never be able to mow again without you on there with him. You LOVE IT! Just like your cousin Tucker. Milk! Animals. Most of them run from you but you definitely got the animal lover gene from Grammie. Little kids, why we need another one. ;)
Things you don't like---first, diaper rash. Poor little baby you've been getting it pretty bad lately. And it makes you hysterical. I promise to not let it happen anymore. Spankens. Neither do I but it's something your dad and I strongly believe in. I spanked your little hand the other day and you just puckered that little lip and hugged me. By the end of it we were both crying. Hard. The shop vac. Your body starts shaking and you cling to me like a little monkey.
You are thriving like crazy. You are about 22 lbs. Not sure how long you are. You are in 18 month clothes and size 4 shoe. I bet it won't be long before you are in all of those 24 month-2T clothes we were given.
You say SO MUCH! Since you've been actually saying words since you were 6 months old it is not surprising to me but it surprises a lot of others. Your words---yuck, that, ball (even though it sounds like bowww), boot, mama, daddy, Tucky, no, tanks (thanks), hot, hat, what, at, Bubba (you point at his picture and kiss him--hurts my heart), where, shoes, doggy, kitty, woof woof, meow, again, Sarah (yes me) it, and much more. Sentences---where's mama, dad, sarah at? And that's all I've been able to understand so far.
I personally think you're the smartest baby alive. I teach you something and you have it down. I bought a toilet for you so we can start training. I'm hoping it's an easy process. You brighten my day no matter what. I need you to be with me 24/7. I even almost snuck you in bed with us. Daddy thinks its a bad habit to start even though he wants you with us just as much. I also don't think you would sleep very good.
I love you more than anything baby girl. Keep smiling and keep shining sweetie. You can do and be anything you want!
Love,
Mommy

Randoms
Well it has been too long since I've blogged. I seem to always find something "more important" to look at when I come to blog then get sidetracked.
I plan on taking a long break from Facebook. I don't think there's anything wrong with it but there is to me when I spend as much time on there as I do. I also let others opinions get to me too much. It's just easier to delete it and take a break from it than trying to delete everyone I don't want to see. So what I'm doing is collecting contact information from the important ones (my family) and giving myself a month off. For my sanity. I know that sounds crazy but I think more of you than not will understand.
Ruby is very well. We've had a few very big weekends and I will post pictures below. A couple of weekends ago we went to the Gentry Safari with Jake, Lindsey and Nikki. It was SO FUN. We timed it perfectly. We got there about an hour and a half before lunch. We did the petting part and walk through first. There were monkey's you could get in the cage with to pet and play with. Lindsey was the only one brave enough to do it. Those monkey's were crazy! They jumped all over her, pulled her hair, and one of them reached through the fence and took Nikki's sunglasses ran to the back of he cage and cracked them in HALF!!!! The keeper lady felt so bad. When she went to get them from the monkey the poor little thing got her feelings Hurt and started crying. Hilarious. We also went on camel rides. Fun fun. After the walk through we had a picnic. We all brought some yummy food that we shared. I forgot to mention the weather was amazing! Nik and Lins even mentioned being "cold". After our picnic we did the drive through part. I forgot how long it was. The kids had so much fun. I love getting Jake and Ruby together. He is so special to us and I just wish Ruby and I could spend more time with him. And Lindsey of course.
Last weekend was good too. Ruby and I went to alma to spend some time with the family. I had lunch with Mom, Wayne, Briana and Tucker. We then went to see Grandpa Rick. He's doing better and finally got clearance for his surgery! Please keep him in your prayers. After that we went up to the Inman's then dinner with my dad and Linda. It was a big day.
Jared, Rubes and I just took it easy on Sunday. We had lunch, went to the mall and napped.
Ruby is doing so well. She's talking so much. Asking questions like "what's that?", "where's dad/mama at?". She's saying a lot more words but I'll save that for her 15 month old blog. 15 months can you believe it?!?
This weekend is Jake's birthday party. He is 2!!!! I'm excited to see everyone and let Ruby play with the kiddos.
More randomness... I am not working out right now. I don't know what my deal is but I can see it becoming a problem with winter right around the corner. I really don't need my winter coat just to have to work it off this spring. :)
Let's see... I can't think of anything else. The holidays and winter is coming and this mama is stoked!!!
I hope you all are doing better than ever!
Love,
Sarah

Let's see... I can't think of anything else. The holidays and winter is coming and this mama is stoked!!!
I hope you all are doing better than ever!
Love,
Sarah
