About Me

Jared and I have been married two years now. In November we will have been together 9 years. Crazy to think. We definitely grew up together and I think that's what makes us work so well. We had a daughter in June and we're not sure why we didn't do so sooner. We love her with our life. She is the best thing that's ever happened to us. I love having my own family. We live in Fayetteville and LOVE IT. We are always back and forth on whether or not we'll move back to Alma. I see us back down there one day but I see our life always being in NWA. If only we could pack our families up and move them up here!

May Flowers

Well it's May and I seriously can NOT believe it. I feel like Christmas will be here in the blind of an eye.

A lot has been going on but of course, Ruby first. :)

She is thriving like crazy and I couldn't be more thankful for it. She's crawling all over the place. A lot of the time it's as fast as she possibly can. She's still chatting it up. I've noticed that she's stopped saying all the words she knows as much as just pointing, crawling to it, or just waving. She babbles more than saying actual words. But she still says "daddy, yeah, okay, no" a lot. It's crazy how she answers us. She just recently started saying "Tucky" and pointing at his picture on the refrigerator. Those two are best buds!

She had her first wipe out yesterday morning. She always sits in my bathroom while I'm getting ready. She opens drawers, cabinets, and the toilet (when we're not looking). She wants everything OUT of it. Except for the toilet of course she likes to put stuff in it. :) Anyway, she was in the bottom drawer standing over it. I was putting my makeup on and Jared was shaving. I hear him gasp so I look down at her and she looked mortified sitting down and fell backwards hitting her head so at first that's why I thought she was crying. But Jared told me she basically ate the drawer when she fell. Then I saw the blood. Poor baby girl. She stopped crying after 3 minutes or so but mommy did not. She was laughing at me. Haha! She has a little boo boo on her chin and busted her bottom lip on the inside and her upper gums. Man I really need her to not do that anymore.

Tonight, SHE WALKED!!!! It's so crazy! I've been trying to get her to walk and she just gets mad and sits down and cries. Well, tonight she just took off. It was so cute! Only three steps but still! Jared and I were so excited and screaming and clapping. She just sat down and waved at us. What a wonderful thing to experience together!

This past weekend was Race for the Cure. What amazing experience. My sister Tiffany came up and we rode together. The turn out was unbelievable. I am in awe at the amount of women and men who support such a great cause. I think everyone should! Especially WOMEN! Tiffany and I did a little shopping and eating afterwards. We were all pooped. Ruby and I came home and played outside the rest of the day. Jared planted two rose bushes and some other flowers. The flower bed looks awesome. So glad he doesn't mind doing the outside chores. ;)

I think that's all I've got. I have to spend this month planning little girl's birthday party next month. Crazy! It's also Jared's birthday month. Fun fun!!!!

Have a great week!

Mommy Brain

Well I officially have lost it. I've noticed little things here and there that I do and when I realize it I think to myself "what are you doing?!!!". But today has proven it. Jared asked me earlier "what happened to this towel?". I say "what towel?". Him-"this kitchen towel in the trash can".... I threw a towel away!!!!!! Last Friday I used baby aquaphor on Ruby's face, that stuff is 5$ a tube. Well she HATES when I put that stuff on her. Cries every time. The next day we went to use it again and couldn't find it anywhere for days. I kept saying "Ruby I can't believe you hid your face medicine from us". Poor baby. Tuesday (4 days later) we were outside playing and I started talking about it again. I mean we had turned this house upside down. Jared just got a hunch, so he went to check this diaper box (that was now in the outside garbage can) that I had been using as a trash can in her room. Yep, I had thrown it away. What is up with me and throwing everything away?!?!!!

Things are going good. It finally feels like spring instead of summer. I mean could Arkansas weather get any weirder?!? I'm glad. We all know I can't handle the heat.

Ruby is awesome. I have been catching myself just staring at her constantly. Precious little thing.

She no longer lets me love on her at all. If I pick her up to hug and kiss on her she gets mad and squirms out of my arms. It's so sad.

I can't remember what I said in my last post. I don't think there's anything new other than her TOP LEFT TOOTH! It's here and it's so darn adorable. OH! And she claps now too! She's been trying to figure that out for months! Healthy baby and we are lucky! :)

Jared and I are still on our workout/diet craze. Together we've lost about 34 lbs! Yippee! He's lost about 20 and I've lost 14. We feel great and so do our clothes! I'm actually FINALLY able to wear my pre-pregnancy jeans!

Tonight we are going to my mom's. We didn't get to see them on Easter so we're doing game night/Easter dinner tonight.

Have a great weekend!

April Showers

Well the lightning, thunder and rain is here tonight. Yuck! I absolutely hate storms. I feel bad for the Texas people who were effected by the tornadoes today. I will definitely be praying for them.

Things are great here. Ruby is doing so good. She's so close to walking. She's talking up a storm. I feel like she is just so smart. She said "kitty" last week. I haven't heard it yet. But Kathy has two cats and they said one of them cruised through the room and she said it twice. Jared heard her say it once too. Every time I ask her to say it she just looks around for a cat.

Jared always gives her her bath. He has been working a lot lately. So last night I was giving her her bath and she kept saying "dad?". It was so cute. There's not a doubt in my mind that she knows what she's saying when she talks.

Tonight I swear she was saying "tickle tickle" and trying to tickle her bath time duckies. I don't know though.

She's dancing like crazy. It's hilarious. She absolutely loves music. She answers me when I ask her a question. It's either "yeah" or she shakes her head no. Sunday night I went in while Jared was giving her a bath. I asked if she was ready to get out and she shook her head up and down and smiled so big.

We have to spell out "puffs". She love them so much.

She still just has those two bottom teeth. It's so crazy those top two do not want to come through. Thank goodness we haven't had any problems with teething. She's such a happy baby.

And the most exciting news! She is sleeping through the night! I hate saying it out loud because I don't want to jinx it. But she's doing great! I never even did the sleep training. Woohoo! She is such a good girl!

This past weekend I went to Texas with 5 of my girlfriends from work. It was so fun. We ate a lot. Had drinks. Shopped a lot. And just laughed our heads off. Our friend Julia who married her high school sweetheart last summer and moved out there was kind enough to let us stay. Actually, she had no clue we were coming. We called her husband about two months ago and told him what we were planning. She was SHOCKED! Had nooooo idea! I missed Ruby and Jared so much it made me sick but the get away was really good. Jared stayed home with her friday night then she got to spend the day and night with her Grammy and Papa Wayne. I am pretty sure she had a blast. We were so happy to see each other again. But I have to say her and Jared were/are really attached to each other. It's pretty sweet.

I can't believe I will be planning her 1 year birthday party soon. When Race for the Cure is over that's what I'll be doing all of May. I won't be going overboard. It will probably just be family and close friends. I'm excited!

So this weekend is Easter. Jared and I are going on a date Friday night to eat and get Ruby's Easter basket stuff. I'm so excited to spend some time with him. I've been missing that guy! Saturday I'm hoping to clean out our closet for garage sale stuff. It is in desperate need! Then Sunday we're going to mansfield then back through to Mountainburg. Busy weekend!

I hope you all have a great rest of the week! Happy Easter!!!!

Love,
Sarah

Update on the Inman's

Well surprise surprise, I'm behind on my blogging. This may or may not be a long one depending on when I get tired of typing. :)

Things are great here. Everyone is healthy thank the Lord! Jared and I both had the nasty stomach bug. That virus is no joke. I hurt so bad I thought I was dying! Then Kathy got it. She called Wednesday morning saying she couldn't keep Ruby. Then Wednesday night her husband Bruce called saying she was still so sick. Poor thing. We took her paycheck by yesterday (Saturday) and he said she was STILL SICK! I didn't even have it for 24 hours and neither did Jared. She is supposed to be going to her daughter's (who is expecting Kathy's first grand baby) and I am just praying she makes it. They were supposed to work on the nursery.

So on a Ruby note....this girl cracks me up. She is something else. Growing like a weed. It's something new every day. She turns 9 months tomorrow. By the way, I starting writing this Sunday night and now it's Monday morning.

Ruby loves going outside. Even when she's crabby cakes if we take her outside it's like she just woke up from a nap. I got her a walker last weekend and she likes it ok. She enjoys going up and down the driveway but doesn't love it inside.

She's definitely "cruising". Yesterday she was basically standing on her own. I think she will be walking before we know it.

She is still on both breast milk and formula. Mostly formula though because I'm stingy with the bm. She loves both. It doesn't phase her either way as long as its a nice warm bottle.

She's still just doing baby food and I'm afraid I have a picky eater on my hands. A stubborn, picky eater. Mainly she only eats good if it's squash, sweet potatoes, and/or bananas. I don't care as long as she's getting a full belly. This week at her 9 month check I will ask what we can give her for breakfast as a solid (no I don't know). I will also ask about juice and snacks.

She's talking a lot. She babbles all the time. Her words are mama or mom, dada, up, no, yeah, bye, and she waves hi. She also shakes her head "no". Not on cue but she does it.

She absolutely LOOOOOVES her daddy. She bounces up and down and laughs when he gets home from work.

She also loves little kids. If there's a small child around I don't even have to worry about keeping her entertained. I told Jared the other day that she needs a brother or sister. He immediately shot that idea down. Don't worry though, I'm really not ready for that. I just think she gets bored with me.

She's about 20 lbs give or take. She's been slimming up. I can't wait until Wednesday to get her measurements. She still only has her bottom two teeth. I swear she's been trying to cut her top ones for months now.

Sleeping---yes I saved the best for last. :) She isn't great as you all know. She's still waking up at night and naps are few and far between. She's very easy to get back down at night though so that's nice. I said I was gonna do the sleep training this week but that lasted all of 10 minutes today. Which, by the way it's now Monday night.

Saturday and Sunday night I laid her in bed and she barely fought it and went to sleep. Tonight she fell asleep before she finished her bottle then I laid her down.

The way I see it is I do not want to quit rocking her, ever. Even if she learns to go to sleep on her own it's something I'd miss way too much. I know they say it'll help her sleep through the night but it is what it is. I can not handle her crying, not even for 5 minutes. It's just too sad. We'll all figure it out. At this point I'm used to it so I'm up even if she's not. I feel like she's slowly figuring it out so we'll see.

Well that's it folks. I don't know how you mama's do this all the time. I told myself when I get in bed I could not touch my book until I've finished this post, you're welcome for all of you that love to hear about us. :)

Tomorrow is her 9 month birthday. In a short 3 months she will be 1!!!! Omg!!!

Have a good rainy week! Here's a few pictures I have on my phone. Jared took the 12,000 I had stored off last week to give me more "storage" space!

Spring Time is Here!

Well first of all, let me talk about myself. Ha! And Jared. Usually I do not like spring time because that means summer is coming. I'm a winter LOVER so I always dread summer/heat. It's weird because I love swimming so much! Anyway, I'm actually loving this weather. I don't dread summer because I have a plan.. I am transforming this body into something I won't be ashamed of anymore! I've never been more determined in my life. I have always had an excuse not to have to wear a swimsuit because I didn't have a baby. Now I have a sweet little girl who I know will LOVE swimming as much as her mama!

So Jared and I have been going non-stop for the past month or so on the elliptical machine. Last Monday we added Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred to it. That lady is crazy!!!! But I'm down 9 lbs and super excited about it. I am eating healthy and I just FEEL really good. Thank goodness for Jared! He is my support system (always). When I want to skip he doesn't allow it. I have about 11 more lbs to get to a happy place on the scale but I have a feeling my body is gonna take more than the 30 Day Shred for the sculpting I want.

Anyway, the most important part to me is being a healthy person for Ruby. I want natural energy and to feel good and live a long life. Exercise will always be a part of Jared and I's life no matter what. I will enforce it into Ruby's as well. I mean I won't have her on the elliptical at a year old but when she gets older she will know how important it is.

Ok on another note, Jared is in bed and has been all night with the dirty stomach bug. Poor guy. I feel bad for him. He is never sick. I pray Ruby or I don't get it. I already pulled out a stash of breast milk to hopefully boost her little immune system to fight it off. I hear it's highly contagious.

Now onto the princess. Wow. She is getting so big. She's doing so much I don't even know where to start. She's crawling all over the place. It's so cute because she will follow me all around the house just laughing at herself. She's bumped her little head a lot. We are learning not to make a big deal about it so she doesn't freak out. Last Friday she hit her eye. Jared thought she would have a black eye but it was just good and red for the night.

Let's see... She absolutely loves being outside. It immediately calms her down. It's like a different world for her. She also LOVES GOING PLACES! Loves people watching. I hope I don't eat my words but seriously every time we go anywhere she never makes a peep. She thoroughly enjoys just sitting in her stroller taking it all in.

She's really learning how to get her way. She's been really testing Jared and I. She is getting harder and harder to get to bed. That's a struggle I'm just going to have to pray about and just take action rather than talk about though.

I just love that baby girl. She's my whole entire world.

On another note, I have American idol playing and really am not impressed with any of them. Are you all? I think it might be because I feel I have way too much on my mind and plate than to think about tv. I'm just do busy. Haha!

Ok that's all. Hope you all have a nice rainy weekend!

Way Behind!

Oh my goodness so I totally suck at blogging. Life is just so so busy.
Things are great in the Inman house. I honestly can't complain about a thing.

Ruby is just thriving like crazy! She is crawling but not really. Ha! She can do it but prefers not to, unless she needs to get to something fast. And really that is just the animals in her life. She did it for the first time for us last week at my mom's. Then she did it at Kathy's for me trying to get to the car. LOVE LOVE LOVES ANIMALS. It's so precious! Other than that she just does this little bear crawl where she drags herself around. She gets around pretty good like that so why change it?!?

She's also pulling up on everything. It makes me an absolute nervous wreck. I wish I wasn't so paranoid about the worst possible thing happening. I'll get used to it though. It's all she wants to do is stand up. I really don't think walking is too far away. I need to get the girl some shoes! Haha!

She is still not sleeping through the night so Jared and I are still taking turns. I can't believe I waited 6 months to do that! I haven't tried the "sleep training" thing yet but I plan to eventually. I just dread it so bad.

I can not believe she is 8 months old already. It is truly unbelievable to me. Jared and I were talking last night about how it seems like forever ago that we brought her home. We are so blessed with the best little girl. She makes us laugh every day. Thank you God!

On a me and Jared note, we got away for a day to the horse races. We met up with Emmie and Derrick and their friends at her Dad's lake house on Quachita. We rented a shuttle to drive us all day. It was both Derrick and I's birthday so we did it big! Jared won $250 so we never even had to spend a penny! We ate at the Fishermen's Warf afterwards and it was delicious. I haven't been able to stop thinking about that food. We had a great weekend!!!!!

Hope you all are doing as good as us! I couldn't ask for more!

Clapping!

So Ruby's new thing is clapping. Jared and I swear she's the smartest baby in the world. I know all parents think that about their children so we'll just brag on her to each other. :)

She's doing great! Growing like a weed. She loves about everything we put in her mouth. I'm still mixing her fruits with vegetables simply because it's working for us. Each meal she has two containers of 2nd foods. 99% of the time she eats it all no problem. But sometimes she's tired and only eats about 75% of it, no less.

Yesterday was a good day. We went down to Alma and visited everyone we could in one day. My dad was working so we just got to visit with Glamma. We watched Macybeth play basketball which she was amazing at. Very cute watching little 6 year olds run up and down the court. Then we went to visit mom and Wayne. I haven't seen my mom in over 3 weeks and I was having withdrawals. After that we headed over to the Inman's to hang out with them for a bit.

When we got home I had somewhat of a breakdown. Yesterday morning I had nursed Ruby on both sides and it didn't seem to satisfy her. She was pretty upset until we gave her a bottle. I guess it hit me last night when Jared decided to get her down for bed. I'm used to being the one that does that. I don't know why I dried up so quickly but it's obviously for a reason. I am very emotionally attached to it so I feel like it might be a rough road. But it will be ok.

I have quite the stash of breast milk so hopefully we'll use that for at least the next month along with supplementing formula. I just gave Ruby her first bottle of it and she demolished it. No problems. And that was after turkey, sweet potatoes and apples. So I think we're gonna be fine!

Next weekend is family pictures with a great photographer. We are very excite about it. We've never had family photos!

I hope you all have a great week. Ruby and I are still in our pajamas. I've already watched Crazy/Beautiful and just turned on Diary of a Mad Black Woman. Two of my favorites! Can you tell Jared is not home?! :)

Love, Sarah
